It’s the end of term and that time of year when everything comes home from school. Artwork, models, pencil cases, books you thought were lost and someone else’s PE kit, with no pumps.
Hang on… wait a minute. How do you end up with someone else’s PE kit? Or in my son’s case no kit at all, not even a bag, and an empty cloakroom.
In the busy cloakroom, where most kids have the same “school-issue” PE bag it’s so easy for kids, in a rush, to put their stuff in the bag nearest or on their peg. I mean it’s their peg so it should be their bag right? So they grab what’s on their peg and rush for the door, eager for the start of summer. The mix-up discovery is made as you work through the washing pile. You come across tshirts and shorts that either have the wrong name in or are far too big or small to belong to your son or daughter.
It would be a lot less hassle (and expense) if your child brings home their own bag, with their own kit in. A PE kit bag that won’t be mistaken for someone else’s. Last year, I ended up having to buy the whole PE kit again. But this time my son took it in a Meadow Stitch bag with his name boldly printed on. And this summer, everything came out of the school door – no mismatched pumps in sight!
So, to prevent exasperated Mums (and Dads) from washing another child’s kit I am offering free personalisation on pump bags in August.
